Summer Sown Studio provides photography, videography, and content creation for small businesses, nonprofits, architects, designers, restaurants, jewelry brands, therapy practices, and other creative or professional businesses. Services can include architectural and interior photography, portraits, brand imagery, social media content, product and jewelry photography, event coverage, and video production.

Yes. Not every project requires a full day. Smaller projects can be quoted based on the amount of shooting, editing, travel, and final content required. Contact me with your project details and I'll recommend an appropriate scope.

Yes. I offer ongoing and monthly content packages for businesses that need a consistent library of fresh photography or video content for their website, social media, marketing, and other communications. Retainer packages can be customized around your desired frequency, deliverables, and budget.

Absolutely. I particularly enjoy working with small businesses, independent makers, community organizations, and nonprofits to create authentic visual content that communicates who they are and what they do. I have a soft spot for higher education and have worked with UC Berkeley, Presidio Graduate School, and California Institute of Integral Studies.

Yes. I offer photography for therapy practices and other professional spaces, including interiors, environmental portraits, and brand imagery. I aim to create images that feel warm, welcoming, professional, and representative of the people who use the space.

Yes. Architectural and interior photography is one of my specialties. I photograph residential and commercial spaces with an emphasis on architectural details, materials, natural light, and the overall experience of the space. I go over important details with my client prior to the shoot and appreciate working with the designer every step of the way.

Yes. Video services can be incorporated into a photography session or quoted as a separate production, depending on your needs. This can include short-form social media content, promotional videos, behind-the-scenes footage, and other branded video assets.

Editing is included in the project scope and varies according to the type and number of final images or videos requested. My editing style emphasizes natural, polished imagery while preserving the character of the space, people, or products being photographed. For edits on completed and delivered projects, I generally will complete one round of additional edits to meet the desires of the client.

Absolutely. Before a project, we'll discuss how you intend to use the images and identify any must-have shots, locations, products, people, or content. For portrait sessions, we can go over poses and/or create a moodboard. I can also help develop a shot list or content plan if you're not sure what you need.

Yes. I primarily serve Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco, Orinda, and the surrounding Bay Area, with projects farther afield considered depending on the scope and scheduling.

I recommend reaching out as early as possible. However, availability varies, so it's always worth getting in touch even if you have a shorter timeline.

I'll learn a little more about your project, goals, location, and desired deliverables. From there, I'll recommend an appropriate scope and provide a customized proposal. Once the project is booked, we'll coordinate the shoot details, timeline, and deliverables.

For many projects, a deposit is collected to reserve the shoot date, with the remaining balance due according to the project agreement. Exact payment terms will be included in your proposal and contract.

Definitely. You don't need to have your project completely figured out before reaching out. Tell me what you're trying to accomplish—whether that's updating your website, launching a new product, creating social media content, documenting a space, or refreshing your professional portraits—and we can determine what type and amount of content would be most useful.
